Darrow Wilderness Trip Camp - Founded 1957 (ACA)
Wilderness canoeing trip camp. 8-10 campers per trip group. Starting at our remote base camp on West Grand Lake (in eastern Maine) campers learn traditional northwoods skills of wilderness canoe travel and camping with sensitivity to the natural environment. Trips range from one week in our home waters for our youngest campers to six week Canadian expeditions to northern Quebec and Labrador. Campers come home inspired by challenge and adventure, with greater self-esteem, with a sense of the importance of caring for the environment and those around them, and with the realization that they had a lot of fun!
